Another Life is the second album John has produced for Beirut born and Marseille based artist Nadine Khouri. Recorded by Dani Bennett Spragg at Hoxa in London with overdubs recorded by Oliver Baldwin at J&J in Bristol. Mixed by John & Oliver at Playpen, Bristol.
NEWS UPDATE ****An Evening at St Georges Bristol REMEMBERED FOR A WHILE – the music of NICK DRAKESt George’s have commissioned John to put together an evening of Nick Drake’s music to commemorate what would have been Nick’s 70th year.  NEWS UPDATE ****John will be joined by friends including New Zealand singer ALDOUS HARDING, Beirut born,London based singer NADINE KHOURI, Welsh musical polymath H HAWKLINE, guitar player JEREMY HOGG, Bristol musician JACK OGBORNE, and THE LOCHRIAN STRING QUARTET. Original string arrangements have been written by ROB ELLIS (PJ Harvey, Marianne Faithful) and ENRICO GABRIELLI (PJ Harvey, Calibro 35). Tickets available here:
3 ALBUMS IN ROUGH TRADE’S 2017 TOP 50, INCLUDING THE NO.1 Rough Trade shops have just announced their top 100 albums of 2017 and there are three JP productions included No1 ‘Party’ by Aldous Harding. ‘The Salted Air’ by Nadine Khouri, ‘Moonshine Freeze’ by This Is The Kit, and at number 1 album of the year ‘Party’ by Aldous Harding.
New production, & new film out in February. produced by John is released on Friday Feb 3rd 2017. The album, which has a 4 star review in this month’s Mojo, also features John Parish Band/PJ Harvey drummer Jean-Marc Butty.
Nadine was “discovered” by John Parish (producer associated with PJ Harvey and Giant Sand), and approached to sing on a track on his own Screenplay LP, following which she was invited to record a full-length album. |
