‘Senza Un Perche’ by legendary Tuscan singer NADA
‘Senza Un Perche’ by legendary Tuscan singer NADA has topped the Italian iTunes singles chart this week, twelve years after it’s initial release.
The song comes from the album ‘Tutto L’Amore Che Mi Manca’ which John produced and mixed in Rome back in 2004.
The belated chart success of the song is due to Paolo Sorrentino featuring it in a crucial scene in his new acclaimed drama series ‘The Young Pope’ starring Jude Law. The album has also charted on the back of the success of ‘Senza Un Perche’.
The sessions for ‘Tutto L’Amore Che Mi Manca’ were notable for being the birthplace of John’s ‘Italian’ band, and featured Giorgia Poli, Marta Collica, and sound engineer Marco Tagliola. MD for the project was Sicilian singer-songwriter Cesare Basile who John produced three albums for between 2003 and 2007.

With a line-up that has remained the same since their formation, GTB boasts such performers as Portishead and Radiohead rhythm masters Jim Barr and Clive Deamer on bass and drums respectively, Pete Judge on trumpet and Jake McMurchie on saxophone.
